Renovated cookers FAQ's

reconditioned agas faqs

aga question Will my dog love our Aga?
aga answer Well, our very large black labrador, Murphy, is a frequent obstacle for the rest of the family, friends and other hairy animals that like to cluster round the Aga and drink tea on a cold morning. So, probably, yes!
aga question Is the burner overhauled in your reconditioned gas Agas ?
aga answer All of our reconditioned, gas fired, Aga cookers are supplied with a new gas burner which we purchase from the Aga main agents and parts suppliers. This means that your reconditioned Aga has the latest and most efficient burner technology available.
aga question Does a reconditioned Aga cooker have the same enamel finish as a new Aga?
aga answer The finish on our reconditioned Aga cookers is a vitreous enamel which takes many processes to achieve the final glass finish on cast iron. This is the same finish as a new Aga.
aga question I have been offered a stove enamelled reconditioned Aga for less money, is this the same finish?
aga answer No stove enamelling is an inferior finish. It will normally start to deteriate badly after a few years. It does not have the beautiful depth and lustre of vitreous enamel. The finish is normally a low gloss or semi matt finish. It is often applied to cookers that have been broken and welded because such cookers are not suitable for vitreous enamelling
aga question What happens to the chrome domes on the top of the Aga?
aga answer All of the chrome parts are replaced with new as re-chromed parts can show imperfections that would not pass our quality control process.
aga question Are the door backs , grid shelves etc, replaced?
aga answer All of the door backs, grids, liners, side panels are replaced with new panels and related seals.
aga question What happens to the cast iron internals?
aga answer The cast iron internals are cleaned and treated against rust. Any damaged or poor quality parts are replaced ready for the Aga to be assmbled in our workshops.
aga question Is a reconditioned Aga cooker less efficient than a new Aga?
aga answer The basic structure of the Aga has remained virtually unchanged for 50 years. The Aga works by storing heat in the cast iron structure. These parts will show very little wear after long periods of time and once reconditoned, with any faulty parts being replaced, the efficiency should rival a new Aga.
aga question Who fits the Aga?
aga answer The Aga is installed by a recommended engineer in your area. We advise that only engineeers recommended by us are used so that the whole process from placing your order for your Aga to the point when you cooking your first Aga meal is as effortless and trouble free as possible.
aga question Is there a guarantee?
aga answer All our reconditioned Aga cookers have a 12 months parts and labour warranty. After this time parts can be purchased at a trade prices for as long as you remain the owner of your Aga.
aga question I have been offered a 5 year guarantee, by another reconditioner, which excludes the burner and general wear and tear. Is this a good deal?
aga answer Be wary of anyone offering such guarantees. They are, in our opinion, trying to decieve. Basicly this kind of guarantee covers the cast iron internals, which will never need replacing under such a guarantee.
aga question Do you buy second hand Aga cookers?
aga answer Yes we do buy secondhand Aga cookers. Please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or e-mail and we will be happy to discuss the options available in finding a new home for your Aga cooker.
aga question How long will I have to wait until I recieve my Aga?
aga answer From placing your deposit to recieving your Aga takes 3-4 weeks.
aga question How will my Aga be delivered?
  aga answer

Your Aga is either delivered direct by pallet to the installation address or to the engineer fitting your Aga. Your Aga can also be collected direct from our workshops in Devon.

aga question How and when do I pay for my Aga?
aga answer We ask for a deposit of £1000 when you place your order. We will then reserve your Aga and start the bespoke process which results in a beautiful, fully reconditioned, Aga. We will then ask for the final payment prior to dispatch.
aga question Who fits the Aga?
aga answer The Aga is installed by a recommended engineer in your area. We advise that only engineeers recommended by us are used so that the whole process from placing your order for your Aga to the point when you cooking your first Aga meal is as effortless and trouble free as possible.
